Why choose Five Star Home Health Care?  It’s simple, really, because we promise to deliver the type of premium care we would want for our own family members.  Our company is accredited by The Joint Commission, bonded, and insured; we are locally owned and operated with over 7 years of experience managing complex cases.  What really sets us apart is our 24 hour availability.  We understand that your needs and the needs of your family don’t just disappear at 5 or 6pm, and those needs certainly continue into and through the weekend.  That’s why we have live, dedicated case managers on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.  Other agencies might advertise 24 hour on-call, but your call almost always goes to a pager or a voicemail that will “hopefully” be addressed by someone.  They might even use a call center that’s located across the country (or the globe) to try and handle your requests.  Our case managers work hard to understand your needs, and on-call is no exception.  What if your family member is discharged or you need care to start immediately over the weekend or after normal business hours?  Our on-call case managers can quickly assess your needs and send a caregiver to help care for you or your loved one right away. Voicemail, pagers, or call centers can’t do that.

Everything starts with a free, no obligation assessment.  If you call us, we will show you why we stand above the rest.  Others might charge for an assessment, or they won’t show up without a commitment to services.  We’re confident that after you meet us, you will see how we’re different.  We strive to hire only the best caregivers to care for you or your loved ones.  We really only hire about 20% of the caregivers who want to work for us, and we only hire caregivers who are state certified to provide personal care services.  Other companies might send you someone that isn’t certified to do those services!  Every company will tell you they run a state police background check on their caregivers, but that’s because the state requires all of us to do it!  What if that caregiver has an arrest or conviction outside of Virginia?  That’s why we spend the extra effort on a national criminal history check.  We have an extensive 3-stage interview process that includes a competency test, sit-down interview, and company orientation.

Our pricing is simple and all-inclusive.  The services provided by this industry are no different than any others; you get what you pay for.  We don’t bait you by advertising lower companion rates, and then switch your rate based on your care needs, and we will always send a state-certified caregiver.  You always have a dedicated case manager entrusted to ensuring that your experience is nothing but Five Stars.  Our clinical team of Registered Nurses shares in those values as well, and they are committed to coordinating with you a plan of care and the ongoing supervision of your care.

We are Medicare certified and accept most medical insurance plans. If you have a Long Term Care Insurance Policy, we can bill your insurance company directly. We are also licensed by Virginia Medicaid to provide personal care services and bill them directly.  If you or your loved one is a veteran or spouse of a veteran, ask us about Veteran’s Aid and Attendance.
