Activities of Daily Living

We bring Assisted Living capabilities directly into your home by providing 1-on-1 home health aide care on a live-in, hourly or overnight basis.

What We Do

No one knows more about our clients than our home health aides who provide personal care services each day. They are in the best position to notice health changes that could lead to more significant problems. We train and empower our home health aides to communicate regularly. Early identification= early intervention!

Our goal is to keep seniors and individuals with disabilities safe, comfortable and pampered in their own home to avoid facility placement.

Engage in life and do things on your schedule, not when a nursing home wants you to.

Mr. Jennings

home health aide

Introduction: Mr. Jennings is an 82-year-old client that received personal care for about a year in the Northern Virginia area. After Five Star Home Health Care’s services, he recovered from his surgery and moved back to his hometown .

Client Conditions: Parkinson’s disease, and post-surgery care for an enlarged prostate.

Care Provided: Following the home exercise plan developed by the Physical Therapist, the caregiver provided assistance with activities of daily living and with rehabilitation exercises after his surgery. By encouraging independence, the client recovered and returned to his normal routine.

Client Comments: Client’s daughter : “Overall, Five Star Home Health Care provided us with high quality care. My father came to live with us when his situation worsened and had to undergo surgery. After the caregiver assisted him, he got better and stronger and was able to move back to his hometown . The combination of personal care and skilled care was convenient for us. I am also in the therapy field and whenever I meet someone in need of home health care, I recommend Five Star Home Health Care and will continue to do so.”

Conclusion: Our whole-person approach to care aided the client and propelled him towards recovery and living the life he is used to. He moved back to his hometown and based on recent communication with the client and his family, he is doing much better.
